ElliottEmpereur

Elliott Empereur
VALOR SABRE ACADEMY / 02

Elliott brings a rare combination of high-level fencing experience, performance science, and an instinctive ability to connect with young athletes.

A former French high-level sabre athlete, Elliott was listed as a High-Level Athlete by the French Ministry of Sports from 2014 to 2018. His competitive career included a French University Individual Championship title, multiple medals on the French U17 and U20 circuits, and selection to represent France at the Junior World Cup level.

His transition from athlete to coach was supported by a strong academic and professional foundation. Elliott holds a Master's degree in Training Physiology and Optimization of Sports Performance from Paris Descartes University, as well as the French DEJEPS Fencing Master qualification in all three weapons - sabre, foil and épée.

From 2020 to 2022, Elliott worked within France's national youth women's sabre development program as both a fencing coach and physical trainer, contributing to the development of Cadet and Junior athletes at the Pôle France level.

Since moving to Toronto in 2022, Elliott has developed a particular strength in working with younger fencers. His approachable, patient coaching style allows children to build trust and enjoyment in training while progressively developing the technical, physical and competitive foundations required for long-term success.

Under his coaching, young athletes - particularly at the U12 level - have achieved strong competitive results while continuing to develop confidence, discipline and a genuine connection to the sport.

At Valor, Elliott plays a key role in bridging early athlete development and performance fencing - helping young fencers build the foundations that allow higher-level performance to follow naturally.
